Persevere – Keep On Going no matter what
Persevere, Persevere, Persevere.
No matter what you want to achieve in life, there will be times when it’s easier just to give up.
There are ALWAYS a whole lot of excuses out there just waiting to be used but…
This post is the next in the series charting my progress with the Partnership to Success program.
Today Started Badly, But There’s Time to Turn it Round
Today, I woke up happy, with a clear plan of everything I wanted to achieve.
It was quite an aggressive plan, because:
- I think it’s important to challenge yourself
- I know my limitations, and despite the evidence of many years, I always think things will take less time than they actually do (I am, in fact, getting better at this, but there is a way still to go).
Within about 30 seconds of sitting at my desk, the plan was derailed.
We had a power cut last night, and my PC had switched off.
When I booted up, I encountered a Windows upgrade that didn’t configure and (after what seemed like most of a lifetime), rolled back.
I then had to recover the document I didn’t save yesterday.
In all, it took well over an hour to get to the position I thought I was in when I sat down.
It’s Easter, and the combination of holiday and a bad start presented me with a really easy excuse to just write the day off.
But I have learned a few things over the years, and have listened to some very successful people.
One of the quotes that I remember clearly is from Steve Jobs…
“I’m convinced that about half of what separates the successful entrepreneurs from the non-successful ones is pure perseverance”
I may never be quite as successful as Mr Jobs.
Let’s be honest, very few of us ever will be.
But I’m happy to learn as much from him and other very successful individuals as I can.
And if it’s good enough for him, it’s good enough for me.
Persevere and Make Big Progress
A little progress each day will add up to BIG results if you just persevere.
But you need to keep on going.
It’s much easier to make a little progress every day than to try to save it all up and make big progress once a week.
We will all miss a day from time to time, but it’s really important to get right back to it.
The further you fall behind the curve, the harder it is to catch up, and the more likely you are not to bother.
Most people don’t decide to quit. The just fall behind and can’t find it within themselves to put in the effort to catch up.
Don’t be one of those people.
Understand the importance of PERSEVERANCE.

April 17, 2017 at 12:13pmThank you for timing it so well. Somehow you knew to publish this post, right when I would need to repeat – persevere persevere persevere – And then, you shared at a time I would be wandering through my feed. Unbelievable.(chuckling) But seriously, enjoyed the post and understood the lesson. You are appreciated for both.
